a friend of the author recently made significant headway on something he'd working on for six months now. while his buddies and people around him in the know kept talking about and telling him how futile it was, he kept at it, slowly and perhaps surely, like water gently eroding rock in a river. there aren't noticeable changes over several lifetimes, but after several more, one day, one might just find an awesome waterfall where a part of the river used to be.

it's a self invented analogy, of course. but the point that everyone would most likely notice is that most tasks, no matter how gargantuan and insurmountable they seem, can certainly be achieved as long as they don't defy the limits of common sense. it's an inspiring thought, and its definitely something that would be good to take a page from. tying in with the previous entry about beginnings, new beginnings should, ideally come with positive visions of things to come, and inspirations, in practically any form, go a long way toward this end.

it's all too often about new beginnings at this time of the year. people make resolutions, amidst the bursts of colorful fireworks that light up the night sky of a new year's first moments, or at some point near that time, perhaps driven by the anticipation of a fresh start, and those are so much easier to make than to actually keep. on a similar note, the author of this weblog feels that, having left it dilapidated for so long now, it deserves a new beginning.

and so. here's to not just a wonderful beginning, but an equally fantastic or even better middle and end.
